The Stingers came back this week with a strong 5-1 win over Kutztown. This game was a bit of a challenge for the team, since the Kutztown field was very small and demanded technical proficiency to be able to move the ball successfully against this team. We came within inches of going for ice cream when Kayla just missed getting a hat-trick late in the second half after scoring two nice far post upper corner goals. Other goals in the game came from Nina with a nice near post upper corner shot, Bethany who rolled one far post and Tori who got her first goal off a left foot shot from a loose ball in the box.

Governor Mifflin was the toughest team we faced yet. It looked like we would dominate this game early with a goal in the first couple minutes off of a great play by Lauren Blood. Blood received a pass at the top of the penalty box, used a simple touch with the outside of her foot into space in the box, leaving her alone 1v1 with the keeper, ending with a goal. We continued to pressure them the rest of the first half, but slowed down in the second half giving up a goal. We finished with a 1-1 tie.

The match-up everyone has been waiting for. Exeter vs. Germania. Much like in our previous games, the Stingers came out strong and spent most of the first half in the offensive half of the field. The first goal was scored early by Kayla. This was extra special for her, since Exeter was her old team. The second goal came off of a great crossing pass from Bethany, and was put into the back of the net by Regan who was camping out on the back post. The second half was a bit more evenly matched. Exeter had a couple of good scoring opportunities, one of which was a open shot at a wide open net that was prevented by the outstanding hustle of Alex coming back to clear the ball out of play. We finished the game strong with a 2-0 victory.

Another great game for the Stingers. The Stingers dominated this game from start to finish and was highlighted by a hat-trick from B. Blood had the other goal in the game. This game can be summed up by two post-game comments.

“I wish the High School girls were here to see how you girls play this system” - Carlos Scheirer

We played so well, I didn’t even touch the ball” - Regan Schwartz as Keeper in the second half.

WOW...what a great way to start the spring season. The Stingers came out in their first game of the spring season against Wilson with the desire to win. We dominated the game right from the first whistle. It seemed as if we spent 50 of the 60 minutes in the offensive half of the field and got off a lot of shots. The first goal of the game came about halfway through the first half off the foot of Nina. We tallied again in the second half off of a great crossing ball by Blood that found Katie H on the back post for an easy punch in for our second goal of the game. It seemed that our fitness training is helping as we pressured the ball for the entire 60 minutes and only gave up one shot on goal.

GREAT GAME STINGERS
